Some mornings, after a walk through the forest, the whole team sits down at a wooden table by the lake. Iced tea, cool drinks, and the familiar conversation: what the elephants ate today, which way they wandered, which patch of forest has fresh leaves.
This is Lonature's local team. Most of our mahouts were born and raised in Buôn Đôn, living alongside elephants and the forest. They know the trails by heart, can read an elephant's mood from the flick of an ear, and know when to step closer and when to step back.
The people who keep our promise
Lonature is built on a simple promise: no riding, no chains, no shows. It is our mahouts who turn that promise into a real experience. They guide guests into the wild forest, keep a respectful distance, and share the life stories of each elephant, so visitors simply watch elephants being elephants.
Travel that sustains local livelihoods
Every journey with Lonature helps create stable livelihoods for the local people who care for these elephants and protect the Central Highlands forest every day. When protecting the forest can support a family, the next generation has a reason to stay.
Thank you to our team, the quiet people behind every green journey. 💚
